Melissa studied Fine Art at Cleveland College of Art and John Moores University, Liverpool where she gained an Honours Degree in the subject. Now living in Staithes she has found that her paintings featuring the jumbled roofs of the village are an ideal subject for her colourist approach to art.

Her work is in the collections of Durham University and the National
Probation Service.
