(Stephen) Frank Wasley 1848-1934

Frank Wasley's work has its own distinctive style, making his illegible signature superfluous. It is powerful, atmospheric and I often find it to be very emotive through some strange interaction of these two elements. Since our early exhibitions of his pictures in the 1970s Wasley’s work has gradually become much better known and collected. He had the same drive to portray light and atmosphere as the Staithes Group and we have always believed his work to be of similar quality. We have now brought together the best selection of his work that we have had in stock for some considerable time. There has not been an opportunity to view, appraise and select from such a good body of his work for at least twenty years. We believe you will be favourably surprised by the level of his prices compared with the quality of his work.
