Richard C. Hobson 1945-2004 Richard C. Hobson 1945-2004
Richard Hobson was born in Derby but moved to Newcastle as a small child andtrained at Newcastle-upon Tyne College of Art and Industrial Design. In 1973 he gained a Diploma in the Conservation of Easel Paintings from Gateshead College and worked at Bowes Museum as a conservator for 31 years. He exhibited his own paintings at major galleries including the Royal Academy and the Scottish Royal Academy and had a solo exhibition at the Shipley Gallery in Gateshead in 1972. The shipyards of Tyneside were a major inspiration.
Robert Leslie Howey 1900-1981 Robert Leslie Howey 1900-1981
Robert Howey was the son of Staithes Group artist, John William Howey. Known chiefly for his mixed media paintings of the North East coast and of the lake District, he also painted the industry around the Tees estuary with strength and understanding.
Len Tabner b. 1946 Len Tabner b. 1946
Former winner of the Sunday Times Singer and Freidlander watercolour prize, Len Tabner trained in Middlesbrough, Bath and Reading. He generally paints very freely in watercolour on a large scale and is particularly well known for his depiction of seas and of industrial scenes. He lives at Boulby, close to Staithes.
We have several more large paintings by Tabner which aren't illustrated. All will have 4% added for the iniquitous new Droit de Suite tax, payable on pictures by living artists.

We've not been able to trace this artist, but he's obviously professional. Does anyone know anything about him?
