Oils on canvas, 28"x36", signed J.W.Booth, meaning that this picture was painted prior to his election as an Associate Member of the Royal Cambrian Academy in 1889. It is a particularly fine example of all the best features of the Staithes Group, with it's broad Impressionist brushstrokes, sense of immediacy and dipiction of light and shade.
