Please fell free to copy and paste the document below to use as you please. I think it would be best changing it to Times New Roman, font size 12 & centering the title! There must be an easier way, but I haven't found it yet!

CAMPAIGN FOR REAL ART

Sick of the concepts demonstrated in child-like ways, showing no evidence of artistic skills or talent, which flood our public galleries?

Angry about the volume of GOOD art by skilled artists kept hidden in gallery basements?
Sick of the art establishment's endorsement of creations that are merely concepts devoid of the characteristics which would make them visual works of art?

I am. As a fine art dealer for 37 years I have had enough. Something must be done to turn the tide. I dread the 2012 Olympics when I feel certain that Britain's artistic heritage will be portrayed by 'art works' such as a supermarket till receipt, a piece of tree trunk accidentally embedded in a fence, an unmade bed or Teesside's recent Kapoor scribble on its industrial landscape.

Join my Campaign for Real Art!
Simplistically, this involves: contacting any public gallery before visiting them to ask what works they have by any REAL artist not taking 'no' for an answer!

If this movement grows, galleries will have to take notice of what the public actually want to see rather than pandering to the Emperor's New Clothes syndrome exhibited by most art critics.

If they don't know, ask them to check.

If they have, and it/they aren't on show (which will almost certainly be the case) ask why not and if you can make an appointment to see it/them.

Join in REAL ART WEEK 5th-11th December 2011:
Help to ensure that public galleries country wide are inundated with requests to view REAL ART hidden in their basements during the week of the TURNER PRIZE awards
N.B. Tate Britain needs 6 weeks notice!

We might, between us, show all the Emperor's New Clothes syndrome sufferers, especially critics and curators, how wrong they are!
